From June 18th through 28th 2009 the Rutger Hauer Filmfactory organises for the third time a ten-day international Masterclass in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in which actor and filmmaker Rutger Hauer shares his knowledge, vision and passion for the art of filmmaking with thirty ambitious filmmakers from all over the world. In ten days they make 12 short films under the inspired leadership of Rutger Hauer and a team of international experts.During the Masterclass the participants will be formed in teams consisting of a director, cinematographer, producer, actor(s) and editor. Together they form a production team. In ten days each team produces two short films that will be premiered at the end of the Master class. While going through the process of making both films, the participants learn to get rid of the more conventional ways of filmmaking and thus learn to find their own personal path in filmmaking. Their flexibility and ability for both creative thought and collaboration will be tested and challenged by numerous obstacles and unexpected turns.
